The poet Richard Elman wrote,” The paintings of Bruce Lieberman are light exuberant: in their iconography of the ordinary they surprise us with a caressing look, a penetrating glance, and sometimes the bleak light- headed weariness after love, as the world as is, struggles through being painted here to endure a world we make of things, a garbage world, throwaway world.

He’s a painter of great potential range and ambition who has had the good sense, for the moment, to stare with painterly delight at a clump of blooming forsythias that have somehow escaped with all their vividness the martyrdoms of lawn care. The bleak light- headed weariness after love, as the world as is, struggles through being painted here to endure a world we make of things, a garbage world, throwaway world.”

Multiple interviews and reviews have appeared in the New York Times, Newsday, El Diario, Huffington Post, The Southampton Press, East Hampton Star and others.
